Lomas de Lachay is a fog oasis, where winter clouds waters the hills north of Lima. From June to November the desert turns green and carries tara woodland, flowering amancaes and coastal foxes; by January it is bare again. Trails are marked and short, and staying on them keeps the lomas vegetation intact.
